International Patent Granted for EnviroBunker
Envirosports Ltd has announced that EnviroBunker – the bunker face and edging solution brought to the market in 2011 – has recently been granted patents in both the United Kingdom and United States.
Having taken nearly four years to gain patent approval, news of the US patent could not have been more timely as it pre-dated the first EnviroBunkers to be built in the US, at the Trump National Course in Jupiter, Florida (formerly known as the Ritz Carlton) in May 2013.
Co-director at Envirosports, Rhydian Lewis commented: “We received significant public funding towards our patent applications from WRAP Cymru, so it is really satisfying on a number of levels to receive this news.
“EnviroBunker had already been granted Registration of Design throughout the EU, but being granted patents both here in the UK and abroad ensures our exclusive rights to the construction of bunker faces using the EnviroBunker method. It has helped to secure the long term future of our business and with continuing patent applications in Europe and other regions we are now well positioned to develop the business internationally.
“Our thanks go to our patent attorneys Abel and Imray and all of our clients here in the UK and abroad who have worked with us in good faith whilst our patent applications were in process. It’s a very significant milestone for EnviroBunker and our company as a whole.”
