Koro Top Drain Opens New Avenues For Contractors
Contractor Cleveland Land Services has added a Koro Top Drain from Campey Turf Care Systems to its fleet of machinery in anticipation of the next phase of the Sport England’s Protection of Playing Fields programme.
Cleveland Land Services was appointed official Sport England Framework Partners for “Design and Construction of Artificial Sports Surfaces” earlier this year and are working closely with the consultants who specify on these projects.
“Our aim is to deliver quality work every time and to always go that extra mile to ensure our reputation for high standards is at the front of every potential customer’s mind,” said John Miller, Managing Director of CLS. “We believe that the introduction of this excellent machine to our fleet gives CLS another avenue to explore when designing drainage schemes for clients.”
The Koro Top Drain 1500 is a unique multifunctional machine that trenches, removes spoil, injects sand and re-compacts all in one operation. It has been designed for working on sports fields and golf course fairways.
It offers a number of significant benefits including; material and labour savings, faster processing times and less surface contamination than conventional methods.
The sand grid created by the Koro Top Drain complements existing drainage systems.
“The Koro Top Drain was chosen for its one stage trench and backfill operation.” John explained “We anticipate fewer return visits to sites where trench heave before backfill has resulted in sand displacement during establishment.
“We have already offered this alternative to conventional sand slitting to a number of customers and have recently installed top drains as a secondary system to Gateshead international Stadium following a full pitch removal, re-levelling primary drainage and irrigation project.”
CLS have three schemes in the pipeline utilising the Top Drain system; Andrew Marvel Business and Enterprise College Hull, Ponteland RFC, and Billingham Rugby Club.
