Life In The Fast Lane
National Groundcare contractor CDTS Ltd has recently purchased a Reform Metrac G3X tractor which will be put to work maintaining banked areas alongside the M25. Rated for safe working at angles of up to 45 degrees the 44hp G3X mechanical option is a heavier duty model based on the original G3 but with re-enforced axles, final drives and the option of a full hard cab with heater.
Ed Scambler, the Reform dealer who handled the sale to CDTS Ltd commented, “they opted for the G3X as the ideal power unit to cope with the demanding conditions on a new contract they have secured and also to address operator health and safety issues.”
Iain Christison for CDTS added “we already knew all about the Metracs performance and capabilities but the additional factor that convinced us to go for the new G3X model in particular, as opposed to any competing machine, was it‘s lightness and manoeuvrability. We will be using it specifically for the maintenance of motorway banking along both sides of the M25 from the M11 to the Dartford crossing, a contract we have secured for five years. A lot of the work means we will be loading and off-loading the G3X from a trailer and over and around pressure barriers and it‘s light weight gave it a real advantage.”
Simon Richard, UK Agent for the Reform range concluded, “we introduced the G3X to the UK at Saltex last month and the high level of interest it generated has already resulted in this excellent deal.”
