These two key appointments are internal promotions. Stuart Chamberlain and Phil Griffiths will join Peter and Michael O’Brien on the O’Brien Contractors’ Board of Directors.
Both have a wealth of experience in construction and bring specific talents that will enhance O’Brien’s planned growth and management development strategy.
Stuart Chamberlain has been with O’Brien Contractors for five years and has been promoted from his position as Operations Manager.
Stuart’s expertise lies in contract management. His role will involve deploying the best practices of the industry to ensure all projects are professionally managed by O’Brien’s staff. He will continue to develop O’Brien’s role as a main contractor, incorporating specialist Design & Build projects in civils and infrastructure, a field in which the company has already been very successful. Stuart will work alongside Phil to ensure good commercial practices are employed by O’Brien with the intention of bringing projects in on time, within the client’s budget and to meet their expectations.
Phil Griffiths has been with the company for six years as Commercial Manager, aiding the drive for the acquisition of new clients. Phil’s responsibilities as Director will be controlling commercial activities whilst developing the business, identifying markets and working to ensure the aspirations of clients are met.
Managing Director, Peter O’Brien, said:
“The business will benefit hugely from the skills and knowledge that these two new Directors will bring to the board. The existing senior management team recognises that the future of the company, and security of its employees, lies in the strength of its management team and workforce. These appointments consolidate and strengthen the Board of Directors and bring with them extensive experience of commercial contracting. The appointments will positively position the company for commercial success and the next phase of growth.”
The new structure will equip the business to achieve its strategic objectives, increasing market share in its field of operations.
