Barenbrug And IOG Team Up For Special Event
Leading sports turf experts and seed producer Barenbrug has teamed up with the Institute of Groundsmanship to put on a special technical conference and open day at the company’s trial site at Cropvale, near Evesham.
The event takes place on 19 March and is designed to give those tasked with looking after all types of winter sports turf the chance to see first hand what trials the grass breeder is carrying out. Also to hear about the process of bringing a new grass seed to market, and the views and experiences of a wide range of industry experts.
It will be hosted by Dr David Greenshields, Barenbrug’s research & development manager Turf & Amenity (pictured above) who will explain what happens at Cropvale and its relevance to the industry. Visitors will also have the opportunity of a guided tour of the winter sports demo plots.
During the conference a number of informative talks are planned including from turf consultant Tim Colclough; a discussion on the demands of the modern professional stadium; looking at the production of grass seed, while IOG regional advisor Jason Booth will talk about the best ways to keep rugby pitches in tip top condition.
The event starts at 10.00am and costs £20 for IOG members and £35 for non-members including lunch.
