Husqvarna Delivers Next Generation Innovation
Husqvarna has announced the launch of its full range of battery products. A total of seven handheld machines, range of accessories and the flagship of the series – Husqvarna’s first front-mounted award-wining Rider Battery.
Although a number of battery products have already been released – such as the popular Automower® – this will be the first unified battery range for Husqvarna.
When Husqvarna set out to develop its new battery product series the goal was clear: Petrol performance – without the petrol. With the same genuine Husqvarna feel and professional results as the petrol range, the battery products are free from direct emissions and deliver low levels of sound and vibration. Entirely new machines, made with the pioneering user in mind. The battery range will also provide finely tuned weight distribution and a special energy saving mode called savE™.
Building on Husqvarna’s extensive experience, the range also benefits from an interchangeable battery system between products as well as a highly efficient quick-charge mechanism.
“The range will be truly pioneering as it introduces several new innovative solutions. One of the most practical being the way the different machines work together,” explained Andy Eastaugh, Trade Marketing Manager at Husqvarna.
“Through parallel development processes we’ve been able to create an interchangeable battery system between the products, as well as a highly efficient quick-charge system. This enables continuous use at a professional level, which is exactly what our customers expect. All in all, increased ease-of-use, less weight to carry and a unifying modern design that will definitely catch your eye,”
”We’re very excited about the complete product launch and we’re already getting industry recognition for our high design quality,” said Andy.
The most notable red dot design award, the ”red dot: best of the best”, was awarded to the Husqvarna Battery Rider during 2012 – a title given to a mere 1.37% of the submitted entries.
When setting out to design their first ever battery powered Rider the perfect place to start was its Rider 111B – its lightest petrol driven ride-on lawnmower for domestic use – highly appreciated for its handling abilities, ergonomics, efficiency. The new model builds on the same weight optimised platform, but with completely new technical solutionsinside. Made for the environmentally conscious homeowner it offers not onlyoperation – free from direct emissions – but also an extremely low noise level.
”The environmental aspect aside, this is a true high performance machine,” continued Andy. “Our goal was to reach at least the same level as our petrol driven models, and that’s what we’ve done. Actually in many ways outshining them. A full tank generally equals about 90 minutes of mowing, which is just what you get from a fully charged battery.”
Thanks to its innovative platform the Rider Battery offers the same best-in-class manoeuvrability as the 111B model, meaning great handling in tight areas, on slopes and around any obstacle. The front-mounted cutting deck and low point of gravity also add to the drivingexperience through articulated steering, increased traction and heightened stability.
“With the foundation of an optimised proven lightweight construction we had a great starting point and from there we went on to develop our very own state of the art battery software. A perfect fit – felt even before you start the engine,” concluded Andy.
This is the next generation battery equipment delivering unrivalled performance and profiling Husqvarna’s commitment to continuous innovation.
