Classen has introduced a new compact aerator with a streamlined design that is exceptionally easy to manoeuvre and transport. The Classen TA18 features a compact body and a steerable tine bank, making it highly productive for groundsmen, landscapers and homeowners.
With a width of just 27.2 inches (69cm) and length of 46 inch (116.8cm), the TA18 is the most compact aerator in its class, easily negotiating around trees, shrubs and tight spaces while aerating at speed. The Honda GX-120 engine drives the aerator at up to 4.2mph (6.7kmh), allowing the operator to quickly aerate large, open areas, with easy to reach operation controls ensuring comfort and less fatigue.
Five banks of tine wheels (compared to the usual four) combined with tight tine placement pull more holes for faster results and are another contribution to the machine’s productivity.
The Classen TA18’s even weight distribution provides ample coring ability in tough soils and stability on hills, slopes and inclines and the aerator features two ergonomically shaped, removable weights at the front and top of the unit. These rounded weights are easy for the operator to remove, making the TA18 one of the lightest aerators available and at only 214 lbs (97kg) it’s easily lifted, with integrated lift handles, for transportation.
A foldable handle cuts the transport size by half and built in tie-downs secure the unit. Classen also mounted the TA18’s drive sprocket in the centre of the unit for easy access, simplifying maintenance and cleaning. This significantly minimises downtime for operators and hire centres, which further contributes to high utilisation.
“We designed the TA18 with productivity and portability in mind,” says David Goose, Director of Commercial Sales, “it’s seriously simple to use and manoeuvre, which makes it a streamlined piece of landscaping equipment for landscapers, groundsmen and homeowners” Classen backs its compact TA18 aerator with a two-year commercial warranty.
