TIMBREL* – To Carry On Controlling Those Problem Weeds
Dow AgroSciences have announced that, based on the latest communication with the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD), they expect that end users will be able to continue buying TIMBREL* through their usual suppliers for most of this year.
The good news for users of TIMBREL is that they will have a further year of being able to use the product after registration is lost so usage will be able to continue throughout most of 2013 at least.
To meet the likely demand Dow AgroSciences is now gearing production up so that there is sufficient product in the supply chain.
TIMBREL is the number one product choice for anyone wanting to control problem woody weeds such as brambles, buddleia, rhododendron, sycamore and ash. It is also a key management tool in the control of Japanese Knotweed and is also effective against the difficult to control Giant Hogweed and Himalayan balsam. There has been a lot of concern from several major national bodies that there is currently no viable alternative to TIMBREL that gives the same level of control to Rhododendron, especially as it is host to the devastating disease Phytophthera ramorum (Sudden Oak Death), that is affecting the UK’s larch, amongst other species.
What makes TIMBREL particularly useful is that it is a fast acting product and is rainfast within 2 hours. It offers selective control ensuring safety to grasses and allows usage near to trees. Its long-term efficacy generally gives season-long control providing an added bonus for spray operators, looking for savings in time and money, by reducing the number of repeat visits needed to get effective weed control.
