Effective, Easy Turf Rejuvenation With Eliet
As the years pass, all decorative turf is subject to ageing as grass dies and disappears which causes a reduction in the density of growth. This gives opportunity for pests, weeds and moss etc to take over.
The Eliet DZC 600 Overseeder renovates tired and thin turf in no time at all.
Scarifying and spraying can help to briefly interrupt the decline, but the ONLY long term solution is to rejuvenate the grass. The key to success is overseeding and the DZC 600 Overseeder from ELIET makes high tech overseeding possible at an affordable price.
Preparation of the area is key to achieving the best possible results. Scarifying the grass prior to overseeding with the Eliet Compactor E600 offers a highly effective and tidy solution to this requirement as it scarifies and compacts the waste into a collection box. There are some alternative scarifers that are equipped with a collector unit for deposit of the raked up moss.
However, because moss has an airy and voluminous structure, these collector units are filled in no time and must be emptied every 10 metres approx. This ‘stop and go’ dethatching method is frustrating and the collector unit is therefore often left unused, leaving the cleaning problem unsolved.
However, leading innovative Belgium manufacturer ELIET offer an all-in-one solution with the E600 Compactor. This scarifier not only removes the moss and thatch from the turf, it also collects and then compacts it in a collector unit – all in one and the same process. The ELIET E600 Compactor is a true revolution for professional lawn contractors, turning the time-consuming and tedious dethatching procedure into a simple and fast process.
At this stage the turf is now ready for overseeding and the patented operating principle of the Eliet DZC 600 ensures ideal conditions for the introduction of seed:
Cutting Open the Soil – The cutting blades at the front of the machine cut open 10mm -15mm (0.4” – 0.6”) deep grooves in the soil of the turf in preparation for the grass seed.
Removal of Excess Soil – The blades rotate over the top and cast the soil in an arch to the rear of the machine so that it does not fall into the newly cut grooves.
Precision Sowing – A clever and compact seed distribution system, Helix Seed DuctTM, carries the seed under the projected excess soil into small funnels leading to discharge channels precisely located above the clean grooves.
Injection – A small air pressure generator blows air through the seed funnels so the seed is blown while it is being distributed. This helps the seed to settle faster and with more precision in the grooves.
Rollers – The powered rubber roller immediately follows the seed distribution process and ensures that there is good contact between the soil and the seeds by pressing the earth down.
Covering the Seed – The flow of projected excess earth falls just behind the roller on the sown area. The earth covers the seedbed and provides a protective layer for the seed, increasing the chances of germination and growth.
The Eliet DZC 600 Overseeder renovates tired and thin turf in no time at all by adding new grass to the existing turf and is even ideal for refurbishing smaller areas that have heavy use, eg football goal areas.
This inexpensive alternative is simple, takes little time and guarantees a visible result in less than a month. Unlike similar alternatives, it also has the added bonus that the area will be available for normal use immediately after overseeding.
