Scotts Unveils Advanced Products for Growers

29 Jul 2007

Scotts’ new Exemptor insecticide is effective against (clockwise from top left) aphids, vine weevil, white fly and leaf beetle.

The Scotts stand is featuring two new products which underline the company’s commitment to developing advanced fertilizers and pest control products for growers.
Exemptor is a new contact and systemic insecticide for the control of major soil and foliar pests in container-grown ornamentals. Formulated for incorporation into Scotts growing media, including its peat-free products, it is effective against vine weevil, aphids, whitefly and leaf beetles.

Osmocote Hi-End is the first of Scotts fertilizers to use Dual Coating Technology (DCT). This means that after initial release of the first dose of nutrients, a second coating around the granules postpones further fertilization for two months, effectively saving nutrients for when the plant needs a boost in its growing cycle.

The stand will also feature Agroblen, a controlled release granular fertilizer for field-grown crops, including field-grown trees, hedging and stock plants. With Agroblen, growers can minimise the leaching of nutrients into watercourses, make a single fertilizer application rather than multiple applications, minimise soil compaction when applying the fertilizer, and optimise yield by providing nutrients exactly when crops demand.

Scotts is also inviting growers to come onto the stand to discuss their participation in pre-launch trials of a new granular wetting agent, called H2Gro.
