Even Bounce For Grass Courts

27 Aug 2007

Despite the inclement British summer, the attraction of Wimbledon means demand for quality grass courts is higher than ever.

This year Syngenta is planning to run trials to demonstrate the enhanced playing characteristics of a dense turf surface, reduced growth during tournaments, along with improved drought resistance that can keep courts looking greener and playing better for longer in the season.

Simon Barnaby reports that with intense periods of heavy wear, grass courts can quickly show signs of stress (above). “Primo MAXX applications prior to tournaments or periods of prolonged play, will keep the grass courts playing consistently and maintain the important even bounce for longer. Treated courts also recover quicker.

With regular use we can grow championship quality grass surfaces, that could develop Champions in the future.”
