Watch – #GroundsWeek Virtual Round-Table with Jason Booth

Watch – #GroundsWeek Virtual Round-Table with Jason Booth

25 Feb 2021

With the GMA’s #GroundsWeek initiative kicking off next week, of which we are a proud sponsor of, we hosted a virtual round-table event with Jason Booth, Chief Operating Officer at the GMA.

We were also joined by Wesley Matthews – Volunteer Groundsman at Cranfield United FC, James Wright – Grounds & Gardens Team Leader at the University of Leeds, Kevin Thompson – Volunteer Groundsman at Thatto Heath Crusaders and Jon Ramsay – Head of Grounds at Summer Fields School. The panel discussed exactly why this initiative is important to all sectors and roles within the Turfcare industry.

Following a difficult year for the sector, due to the impact of Covid-19, the GMA aims to showcase grounds staff and the amazing work that they do – and have continued to do – despite sport coming to a grinding halt. It also comes after a year where parks and green spaces have been valuable to the public’s health – with increased use for ‘daily exercise’ and physical activity.

The GMA’s campaign will encourage individuals and organisations across the industry, whether they have a career in grounds management or volunteer for an hour a week, to get involved both on the pitch and on social media.

More information about #GroundsWeek can be found here.
