Knapsack sprayers
Hardi introduced two electronic knapsacks, each with15 litre capacity, to complement its range of knapsack sprayers. The BPE 12-volt unit for the professional user has pressure adjustment and gauge for precise applications. The BPE 6-volt model is for general purpose use, alleviating any need to pump continuously to keep the unit charged. Pressing a trigger automatically engages the pump for spraying. Both models have built-in carrying handles and wide filling point with tank filter. Suction filters are also fitted in the base of the tanks to ensure no blockage of nozzles. They come complete with padded shoulder straps, battery charger and two spray nozzles. When fully charged up to four hours continuous spraying can be expected.

Compact tractors
McCormick has a new range of compact tractors for groundscare use. It’s called the CT Series and comprises four models from 28hp to 47hp, each with 4WD and rear differential lock. The CT28 and CT36 share a similar structure with 12×12 speed synchro shuttle gearbox or three-speed hydrostatic transmission. The larger CT41 and CT47 models with 16×16 synchro shuttle gearbox or three-speed hydro-drive have a 1.75m wheelbase and more generous 1250kg linkage lift capacity.

Universal flail head
Lamberhurst Engineering are the UK distributor for the Brogio trimmer head that fits any strimmer or brushcutter. It comes in three sizes with a maximum spread of up to 22 inches in diameter. The addition of a Brogio flail head attachment to a standard brushcutter turns it from a machine capable of trimming grass, weeds and brambles into a universal machine you would normally use a heavy duty hedge trimmer or even a chainsaw for. Instead of using the standard flexible nylon cord head or in some cases the cutter blade option, the entire head is removed and replaced by a simple, circular bolt-on plate. This has two 180 degree opposing mountings onto which two lengths of chain are located. Once in use, instead of the nylon cord whizzing round, you have two chains forming a flywheel which gives the host machine a much improved and more effective performance.

Pole saws
Lamberhurst Engineering is exclusive UK distributor for a new range of electronic pole saws from French manufacturer Pellenc. Called the Selion, two models are fixed length and two are telescopic. Features include automatic oil flow control, automatic chain tension adjustment and a head that can be set in high, low or axial position. Powered by re-chargeable lithium-ion batteries, enough for eight hours cutting, they are also user friendly with low noise and vibration levels. At just 2.7 kg (excluding battery pack), the manufacturer claims they are almost half the weight of conventional two stroke saws.

Lamberhurst Engineering, the UK distributor of Ferrari Tractors, introduced the ‘Dualsteer’ Vega, which features a new ‘double steering’ system which the French manufacturer says improves performance dramatically even in precarious conditions. Compact tractors
New Power Shuttle transmissions have been introduced on Valpadana’s latest compact 4WD tractors, the 46hp 6550 and 54hp 6560.
