As Technical Surfaces celebrates its 10th anniversary as the UK’s leading synthetic pitch maintenance supplier, Chris Bassett takes a look at their close working relationship with North West Leicestershire District Council, for whose sports surfaces the company has provided quality maintenance and care since its inception.

Although a nationwide company, Technical Surfaces understands the importance of forging sound business affiliations within the local community, and continues to carry out first-class, bespoke maintenance packages to a number of leisure centres and community colleges within the district.

Over the years, specialist works to the facilities include regular Power Sweeping and Chemical Treatments, repairs, Line Markings, sand top-ups, supplying pitch equipment and completing deeper-cleaning Revite® and Rejeneration® processes.

Their established links with a number of leading pitch installers also allows Technical Surfaces to offer assistance when the time comes to resurface a synthetic facility, as was the case with Hood Park Leisure Centre, whose 1990 installed carpet required replacement in 2006.

As Technical Surfaces has expanded and developed their practices over the past decade, their advancement within the industry is reflected in this case study – as new maintenance techniques are introduced, regular clients such as the NWLDC facilities reap the rewards of longer-lasting, first-rate artificial surfaces.

This sentiment is echoed by Duncan Gibb, Manager of Hermitage Leisure Centre, who says “We have always been very pleased with the service and professionalism provided by Technical Surfaces over the years. This service has benefited all of our sites and enabled us to provide our customers with excellent facilities.”

Despite the varying ages and requirements of the synthetic facilities within the Council’s remit, Technical Surfaces have tailored their maintenance packages to suit the individual needs of each artificial surface. It is this flexibility of service, combined with a commitment to providing long-standing, quality maintenance, which continues to set Technical Surfaces apart in the industry after ten years.
