The first golf course to install a complete new irrigation system using parts from John Deere since its move into this sector of the market earlier this year is Blackpool North Shore.

Designed by consultants YorkMartin International of Ringwood and installed by Arden Lea Irrigation of Preston, the club’s new system was arranged through John Deere dealer Balmer’s of Burnley, as part of a five year contract for both machinery and irrigation equipment.

The irrigation installation will include a computer-based Aurora control system and a new water storage facility.

Course manager Iain Gunn first saw the new irrigation equipment demonstrated at John Deere’s Feedback event in Germany in 2007.
