Job purpose |
- To prepare and maintain all sports turf pitches used by Reading FC.
- To produce playing surfaces for professional footballers at the highest possible standard.
- To maintain landscaped areas

Accountabilities |
- To prepare and maintain all sports turf pitches, natural and artificial, used by Reading Football Club at Bearwood Park Training Ground or Stadium.
- To use a wide range of machinery knowledge and operation skills to deal with all breakdowns, setting up all cylinder/rotary mowers and perform regular routine pre- start checks.
- To mark out the pitches
- To carry out Tractor operations using different implements
- To maintain main lawns/landscaped areas at the Stadium and Bearwood Park using pedestrian mowers, strimmer’s, hedge trimmers, hand tools, weeding beds, blowing all leaves and planting of trees/shrubs
- To inform the supervisor or take corrective action on mechanical defects or breakdown of equipment.
- To help in preparation works for end of season renovations including turf cutting, irrigation works, fertilising, seeding and sand dressing
- To maintain goals and nets, and maintain ball-stop netting
- To be responsible for the upkeep of the 3G surface using a tractor and brush implements
- To use self-irrigators on the Academy pitches
- To ensure all equipment is stored and kept clean and returned appropriately To help with all deliveries of fertiliser/seed/equipment
- To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation
- There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
