What is BRADS?

BRADS is a mentoring scheme, it stands for Building, Refining And Developing Sports-turf and is an initiative that came from one of the Turf Business Summits.

The nucleus of the idea came from the late and great industry legend Steve Braddock. Hence the name of the mentoring scheme was tweaked to take Steve’s nickname.

Steve influenced many in the industry either directly or indirectly and he was always so open and honest when it came to sharing ideas to improve sports turf.

The idea is to give motivated grounds people an opportunity to gain work placements at venues around the country for 2-7 days, to experience what it is like to work at a different sports turf venue.

A selection of top sports venues from international, domestic, and high-quality sports providers, including educational facilities and private members clubs have offered to host potential mentees.

BRADS is an opportunity to learn new sports turf processes from highly experienced sports turf managers and their staff, across a wide variety of sports and venues.
