It’s once again the time of year when we seek to honour the visionaries, the innovators, and the leaders who have left an indelible mark on the world of turf management. Yes, the nominations for the prestigious 2024 Turf’s Top Influencer Award are officially underway.

In a landscape where precision and expertise are paramount, the Turf’s Top Influencer Award aims to find the individual that has made the most significant impact on the industry over the past year. It’s a celebration of those whose tireless efforts have contributed to the advancement of Turfcare, inspiring, innovating, and leading the way, all for the greater good of the industry.

With last year’s award being won by ex-footballer turned fertiliser producer, Henri Lansbury. Lansbury was praised for bringing mainstream media attention to the industry through his non-toxic fertiliser company Grass Gains. Reflecting on being crowned Turf’s Top Influencer for 2023, Lansbury is quick to acknowledge the dedicated grounds staff who the industry relies on, saying “people don’t realise how hard grounds people work”.

As always, this year’s nominee pool will represent the pinnacle of excellence in their respective fields, standing alongside reputable winners and runners up from 2024 such as Meg Lay (MCC Lords), Lara Arias (Marco Simone Golf & Country Club), Paul Burgess (Chelsea FC) and Lee Marshallsay (Eton College).

But the power to determine the next Turf Top Influencer doesn’t solely rest with a select few. The uniqueness of the award lies in the fact that the voting process is carried out by fellow professionals across the Turfcare spectrum. It’s a democratic celebration of influencers who possess an exceptional level of knowledge,  experience, and skill set within their specific portfolios of expertise.

Now in its ninth year, this coveted award has become one of the most sought-after accolades in the Turfcare business. Its popularity extends beyond the platforms of Turf Business, resonating across social media channels like Facebook and X. Last year’s event generated immense excitement as nominations poured in from all corners of the industry.

The 2024 Turf’s Top Influencer Award promises to be the grandest yet. The initial nomination round will produce a shortlist of candidates who will then be presented to the industry for the final voting phase. The big question remains: Who will you choose as the Turf’s Top Influencer 2024?

The clock is ticking, so don’t waste a moment. Head straight to the official website and submit your nomination. Your choice could shape the future of Turfcare excellence, so please join us in celebrating those who make the Turfcare industry thrive.
