​Job title: Technical Sales Representative

Reporting to: Amenity Director

Location: North East England and Scotland

​Overall purpose of the job:

​We’re looking for a driven and knowledgeable Amenity Sales Representative to join our commercial team. Covering a key territory that spans North East England and Scotland, you’ll be the face of our amenity seed business – working with clients across sports grounds, local authorities, landscapers, contractors, and distributors.

​This is a hands-on, field-based role where relationship-building, technical product understanding, and proactive sales activity are essential. You’ll be managing existing accounts while also growing new business across your region.

​

 

Key activities:

1.   Develop and manage strong relationships with customers across the amenity sector, including sports facilities, councils, schools, golf courses, and contractors.

2.   Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into long-term customers.

3.   Provide technical advice and tailored seed recommendations based on customer needs, site conditions, and product performance.

4.   Deliver on agreed sales targets and growth objectives.

5.   Maintain accurate CRM records, prepare sales reports, and forecast demand within your territory.

6.   Attend regional trade shows, demonstration days, and industry events as required.

7.   Collaborate closely with colleagues across sales, operations, and product development.

8. To perform the job in accordance with our policies and procedures, especially the Equal Opportunities and Harassment Policy.

9. To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time.

Any specific requirements:

​Prepared to work the hours required to fulfill the role during busy periods, most often spring and summer.

Be prepared to spend time away from home to fulfill duties relating to the role, approximately 4 to 5 days per month.

​

Person Specification

​​Essential:

  • ​​Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Proven sales experience in the amenity, agriculture, or horticulture sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of grass seed products, turf care, or landscaping solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently.
  • A high level of competence in delivering presentations and webinars.

 

​Desirable:

  • Qualification in turf management, agronomy, or horticulture.
  • Existing network within the amenity or grounds maintenance industry.
  • Familiarity with local authority tendering or contracting processes.
  • Understanding of sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Ability to use Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with social media as a work tool.
