SCAG Turf Tiger Takes On Hatton Country World
Hatton Country World is a well-known and highly popular Warwickshire family destination including outdoor activities, animals and shopping.
Simon Tullett Machinery met the site manager, Richard Craddock, to discuss their recent purchase of one of the SCAG Turf Tiger zero-turn ride on mowers.
The SCAG Turf Tiger makes short work of the intricate areas where there is seating.
They had had one in the past, and it was time for a replacement. This represents quite an investment – but when you realise how much ground they have to cover, and how complex the layout is, you can understand why they chose it. It’s a 61” 25HP machine, and their operative, Paul, makes short work of the intricate areas where there is seating in the public areas, as well as the more open ones.
The Hatton estate covers 750 acres, with 150 acres given over to the village. The grassed areas include general access, the public seating, animal enclosures, children’s play area access and surrounding areas.
This makes for quite a cross-section of mowing requirements, from wide open grass areas to tight-cut intricate ones, and the agility of the SCAG zero-turn plus fast mowing of certainly comes into its own for mowing as much as possible – leaving fine detail finishing to a strimmer.
They are very happy with their purchase and the 250,000 annual visitors get the benefit of attractively maintained grounds to enhance the excellent facilities of Hatton.
