Intelligent Marking sponsor second Summit

Intelligent Marking sponsor second Summit

14 Mar 2019

Turf Business are delighted to announce the support of new sponsor, Intelligent Marking, for the second Summit which takes place in Portugal this October.

Taking place on the Algarve’s well-renowned Quinta do Lago golf resort, the second annual event follows the success of the first Turf Business Summit that was held in Madrid last year. Speaking about the importance of the 2019 Turf Business Summit, ProSport UK managing director, Ian Robson, said: “The Turf Summit has proved to be a very effective platform for evaluating existing techniques and introducing new innovations to promote best practice, and it’s one we very much want to play a part in. For us, it’s also a great opportunity to bring robotic technology to the attention of turf professionals and show what it can do.”

Intelligent Marking
Intelligent Marking’s Autonomous Line Marking Robot, the Intelligent One, has already started to revolutionise line marking. Founded by co-CEOs Anders Ulrik Sørensen and Andreas Ydesen as a high school project in 2014, the company and product have evolved.

In early March 2019, the company announced the expansion of its U.S subsidiary in Georgia which was made possible with the completion of a multi-million-dollar funding round led by investor Johnny Laursen, CEO at Benjamin Capital.

The expansion of the Danish startup is led by the industry-leading features of the Intelligent One. In 2017 the robot received the Saltex Innovation Award and has since gone on to be used by sports organisations, municipalities, school districts, private schools, commercial contractors and professional teams in Europe, the U.S., Australia and Japan.

In the UK, Intelligent Marking appointed ProSport UK as their sole distributor. As part of the move to become an integral part of the Sports Turf Industry and to demonstrate the full potential of the robot to the UK market the Danish company has joined the Turf Summit for 2019.

Accurate robotic line-marking
The patented Intelligent One can mark lines on all types of sports fields on natural grass or artificial turf, managed through a mobile app, eliminating the need for an operator while increasing precision and sustainability.

The robots unrivalled accuracy comes from the base station. Intelligent Marking is the only company to provide a base station which allows the machine to be operated without a costly annual subscription and without cellular or real time kinematic (RTK) connectivity and coverage. Using the closed system means the machine can be used anywhere with unprecedented reliability whilst matching the marking speed of every robotic line marker on the market.

The Portugal Summit in 2019 will be hosted by Golf Superintendent, Paul O Mahony, with turfcare professionals, from across all disciplines of the industry, invited to attend. As well as its attractive location, an active agenda will include: workshops, Q&A sessions and private tours of Quinta do Lago’s impressive greens and grounds under Paul’s guidance. While there, attendees and sponsors can also look forward to an engaging agenda that will continue to build on the progress that was fostered after last year’s successful event. Delegates will discuss the important issues facing today’s groundcarers, share expertise and identify solutions to drive forward change across the industry.

Turf Business would like to welcome Intelligent Marking on board as well as thank them for supporting this year’s highly-anticipated Turf Business Summit in Portugal.
