Sherriff Amenity has announced a 100% pass rate for greenkeepers and other turf professionals for the BASIS Foundation Award in Amenity and Horticulture, which raises the knowledge of pesticides among professional users.

With support from Bayer and Everris, the nine candidates, from clubs and organisations up and down the country, took part in a three-day course conducted by the STRI’s Head of Research Dr Ruth Mann at this year’s BTME in Harrogate and the STRI HQ at Bingley. All of them learnt recently that they were successful in the exam set subsequently by BASIS, the independent organisation which sets, maintains and assesses standards of pesticide production and usage.

“We helped support candidates through the course in association with Sherriff Amenity,” said Eleanor Jenks, National Account Manager at Bayer. “We feel that it is important to support education within the industry and continued professional development. The Foundation Award is one of many recognised qualifications that BASIS offers those working in turf and other land-based professions.
