STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute) is providing a series of training courses throughout November and December for greenkeepers and course managers throughout the UK and Ireland.
Eight venues across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland will each host four individual days of training covering detailed and practical information on the latest products, techniques, technology and machinery used in the management and development of golf courses and putting greens.
Science-based, practical and interactive sessions across fourteen separate golf modules encompassing technical turf management, progressive turf management as well as pests, weeds and diseases will be included in each course.
The courses will be hosted by a number of STRI agronomists who have extensive experience of providing sportsturf management consultancy at golf courses throughout the UK and Ireland, including all Open Championship courses for the R&A.
Stuart Ormondroyd, who will be amongst the STRI consultants conducting the courses, said: “We’re delighted to be running these training programmes which provide sportsturf managers with invaluable insight and knowledge delivered by our knowledgeable staff.
“Each of the fourteen modules provides delegates with detailed knowledge which is being delivered to suit their individual needs. Whether they attend for all four days, or just a selection of the modules to meet their requirements, I’m sure the information provided will be invaluable to assist them to improve and sustain the quality of their turf.”
Carolyn Beadsmoore, head of sales and marketing at STRI adds: “We’ve already received a great response from turf professionals to attend these courses. Each training session is only offering a limited number of spaces to ensure delegates receive quality and individual attention throughout the training. I’d urge greenkeepers and courses managers to book their place at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.”
