Synthetic Turf Technology Takes Centre Stage
This month kicks off the 13th annual Homeless World Cup, where on September 12th individuals from various backgrounds, nationalities and interests will come together in Amsterdam for eight days to share their love of football and support the tournament.
With Act Global set to be the official synthetic turf sponsor for the event, Bonar Yarns MN Ultra fibres are featured throughout the pitches donated by the FIFA preferred producer. Encompassing a unique balance of durability, skin friendliness and resilience, MN Ultra fibres provide a top of the range solution for the tournament – normally featured in FIFA 1 star and 2 star accredited pitches – making the latest synthetic turf technology centre stage for the event.
The Homeless World Cup is on a mission to inspire life change through the power of football. Founded in 2001, the Homeless World Cup and its partners now span 74 countries, and has impacted the lives of 1 million homeless people worldwide. It is estimated that 100 million people worldwide are homeless, with as many as 1 billion lacking access to suitable housing.
A survey of Homeless World Cup players found that:
• 94% say the Homeless World Cup positively impacted their lives
• 83% improved social relations with family and friends
• 77% changed their lives significantly because of their involvement with football
• 71% continue to play the sport
Football can build relationships, trust, responsibility, dedication, a sense of community, and so much more. The sense of empowerment that comes from participating in sport truly can help individuals envision and implement change.
Good luck top all participating teams, we are honoured to support such a worthy cause.
The tournament takes place from 12th-19th September.
