The annual Turf Business Summit is an industry renowned event that brings together industry leaders, experts, and professionals to share best practices, learn from each other and network. The Summit covers a wide range of topics, including sustainability, training and development, raising awareness of the industry, as well as promoting and developing new initiatives.
By taking part in the survey, you can help ensure that this year’s summit, like every year previously, addresses the most relevant and important issues facing the industry. The 2024 Turf Business Summit will be hosted at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort in Bulgaria, with its world renowned Pravets golf club and multi-functional sports complex.
Alongside influencing the Summit agenda, responses to the State of the Nation Industry Survey will also help Turf Business and sponsors continue to deliver initiatives and projects that promote best practices and innovation in the industry.
A prime example of these initiatives is the BRADS scheme, an innovative program allowing grounds people to experience other parts of the industry, develop their skills and spend time in sectors of the industry they may not otherwise visit.
The BRADS scheme, originally named the Sports Turf Industry Placement Programme (STIPP), is an initiative grown out of table discussions at the Turf Business Summit in 2019. Created to generate interest from existing staff and spread knowledge through the industry, the initial idea was developed and built by a group led by Steve Braddock which included Scott Tingley, Stuart Kerrison and Dave Roberts with assistance from Andrew Purser at Arsenal FC. When the program was ready to be launched, after being put on hold due to the pandemic it was aptly renamed in honour of Steve Braddock and the legacy he left behind, after his sad passing.
The program has already seen numerous successful placements. The first placement saw Luke Lloyd of Essex cricket club completing a three-day working experience at Ipswich Town FC. When reflecting on the placement Lloyd said he believed the “experience was excellent for my development and added valuable skills”. The scheme is quickly becoming one of the most important schemes in the Turfcare industry when it comes to education and retaining staff.
Another innovative project that this survey has helped shape is The Education Sector Knowledge Lab. Aiming to provide guidance, supporting schools and educational institutions in managing their green spaces and developing individuals within this important sector. The Education Knowledge Lab is returning in 2024, for its third year of building stronger working relationships in the sector and improving the skills of those working in it.
The survey will only take a few minutes of your time, is completely anonymous and will ensure the 2024 Turf Business Summit is tailored to the subjects most important to you.
As a thank you for your participation in the survey, upon completion you can choose to be entered into a free draw to win an all-expenses-paid place at this year’s Turf Business Summit. The summit offers a unique opportunity to take part in discussions and debate with industry leaders and experts, share experiences and ideas, network with peers and colleagues, develop ideas and initiatives helping make the Turfcare industry a better place for everyone. And experience the itinerary that you helped shape through your answers.
