Makita wins ‘supplier of the year’ at APL awards

Makita wins ‘supplier of the year’ at APL awards

24 Mar 2017

Makita UK, the number 1 professional power tool manufacturer, has won the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award in the Manufacturer category at the APL Awards 2017 along with Marshalls.  The annual awards, which took place on Friday 17th March 2017 at The Brewery, London, are designed to celebrate and recognise the outstanding landscaping carried out by members of the APL.

Makita innovation brings direct benefits to professional landscapers: greater performance, increased productivity, enhanced operator safety, zero emissions and machines with significantly reduced vibration levels to prevent HAVS.  Makita’s AVT™ Anti Vibration Technology protects operators of heavy duty breakers and rotary hammer drills whilst Brushless motors increase the power and longevity of many cordless tools. The expanding range of battery powered grounds maintenance machines guarantees zero emissions, significant noise reduction and low vibrations with power matching many petrol machines.

Makita’s commitment to the landscape industry includes support for the APL Apprenticeship scheme, the national Skills Show Competition managed by the APL, and direct involvement with APL seminars around the country. This Makita partnership helps raise the skills standard of the industry, improves career prospects for young trade entrants and matches high quality machines with the very best work practices. The Makita Be Safe training demos are delivered at land based colleges nationally.  These are offered free of charge and aims to educate students in the safe-use of power tools.

“We are delighted to have won this award and our congratulations also go to Marshalls – we’re in great company,” says Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager, Makita UK.

This year’s awards were sponsored by Bradstone with the Supplier category being sponsored by Pro Landscaper magazine.
