MyLocalPitch 'Outstanding London Sports Venue Award'

10 Dec 2015

Market Road pitches in Islington has been announced as the first winner of the MyLocalPitch ‘Outstanding London Sports Venue Award’.

The Islington ground, which was reopened by Arsenal’s Liam Brady in September following a £2.1m refurbishment, has two full-size and three 5-a-side 3G pitches as well as an eight team changing room, a training room and improved spectator viewing facilities. The ground also plays hosts to a variety of local leagues and offers a comprehensive programme for juniors.

The award, which was determined by MyLocalPitch users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience. MyLocalPitch is a platform for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London. Users have the choice of over 1,000 venues for 15 featured sports.

Jamie Foale, Co-Founder of MyLocalPitch, explained the award “As the leading service matching sports teams with venues, we constantly receive feedback from our users about the sports facilities they book. We were hearing so many positive stories that we thought we should let the venues know what our players thought of them so we set up the awards. Given the quality of experience people have at Market Road we are delighted that they are the very first recipients of this award.”

Aleksandra Chmielewska, Block Bookings and Administration Officer for Market Rd said “The team here is thrilled to receive this award and it’s gives us huge satisfaction that our customers appreciate our ongoing efforts. We always aim to deliver an excellent customer experience for our sports enthusiasts for years to come.”

MyLocalPitch will be making an award to a stand out sports venue each month based on the feedback from its users. To find out more about the award or how to sign up to MyLocalPitch please visit www.mylocalpitch.com
