Naturally Powerful Disease Control

27 Aug 2007

A major extension to the label of the powerful fungicide, Heritage, now enables turf managers to control the widest spectrum of diseases with a single product.

Extensive trials and independent testing have verified the effects of Heritage on problem turf diseases including:

·   Fusarium Patch (Microdochium nivale)

·   Leaf spot / Melting out (Drechslera poae)

·   Anthracnose Colletotrichum graminicola)

·   Rust diseases (Puccinia spp.)

·   Take All Patch (Gaeumannomyces graminis)

·   Brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani)

·   Fairy Rings (Basidiomycetes)

“The power of Heritage lies in its origins from naturally occurring forest mushrooms,” reports Syngenta Professional Products Technical Manager, Simon Barnaby. “These have the ability to suppress competition from virtually all other fungi growing in the vicinity, which includes most turf diseases,” he adds.

“Heritage is the only systemic strobilurin. This moves the active ingredient through the plant to target new sources of disease infection, protecting the plant as it grows and eliminating the risk of the application being mowed off with the first cut after application.” For the best results he advises turf managers adopt a proactive approach and apply Heritage when enviromental conditions are conducive to disease breaking out, but before symptoms are seen or damage occurs.
