Otterbine Aerating Fountain The ‘Center’ Of Attention
A stunning Otterbine fountain has become the focal point of the Watersports Lake at the Center Parcs holiday village in Elveden Forest, Suffolk.
Situated in the heart of the site, the lake is used for an array of activities, from canoeing and windsurfing to sailing and fishing, but now has an extra wow factor thanks to Otterbine’s attractive aerating fountain.

“We are always looking to improve the site and make it even more enjoyable for holidaymakers,” comments the site’s general manager, Wayne Matton. “The lake is the focal point of the village, so we decided it was the ideal place for a fountain. It looks superb and keeps the water clean as well.”
The 10hp Orion aerating fountain features a two-tier spray pattern comprising a vertical column that can throw water 6.7m high and a 17.4m-diameter fan spray. Center Parcs needs to regulate the force of the water in order to compensate for blustery conditions and so the fountain is configured to speed up or slow down in response to wind speed.
When night falls, the fountain takes a more sophisticated form, providing a spectacular multi-coloured lighting display. “The unit is fitted with two light clusters and we change the pattern of the lenses to create different coloured effects,” Wayne explains.
The fountain was installed by Norwich-based irrigation contractor, Autoflow Systems Limited. “Autoflow introduced us to Otterbine’s excellent range of products and we were pleased with their installation of the unit,” Wayne adds. “The fountain is such a boon and a great talking point around the site.”
