QHotels Acquires Forest Pines Golf and Country Club

15 Aug 2005

Leeds based QHotels has increased its portfolio of hotels to six with the acquisition of Forest Pines in North Lincolnshire.

The Golf and Country Club Hotel was acquired for an undisclosed sum.

The four-star hotel in the heart of North Lincolnshire offers extensive leisure facilities including a magnificent 27 hole championship golf course, and a health, beauty and leisure club within 190 acres of beautiful matured woodland.  QHotels plans, subject to planning permission to extend the conference facilities at the hotel and refurbish and upgrade the bedrooms and public areas to make Forest Pines one of the most outstanding hotel resorts in the country.

Michael Purtill, Managing Director of QHotels commented:

“Forest Pines is a fantastic acquisition to our growing portfolio.  The hotel offers great leisure facilities and adds the first golf resort to the group.  The hotel is currently trading extremely well and we hope to build on this and make Forest Pines a superb choice for not only the leisure break market but also the business and conference market.  The hotel enjoys a particularly accessible location with easy access to the M62, M1, M18 and MI80 and is close to Doncaster and Humberside Airport.

QHotels currently owns The Midland in Manchester, The Queens in Leeds, Chesford Grange in Warwickshire, The Park Royal in Warrington and Norton Manor in Winchester.  Forest Pines is the sixth addition and the company is set to continue its rapid growth over the next 12 months.

QHotels are a group of 6 prestigious hotels, The Midland in Manchester, The Queens in Leeds, Chesford Grange in Warwickshire, The Park Royal in Warrington, Norton Manor near Winchester and the newly acquired Forest Pines in North Lincolnshire.  The company was founded in March 2003 by management, in collaboration with Alchemy Partners and until recently was formerly know as Quintessential Hotels.
