SALTEX: Learn about revolutionary ryegrasses

SALTEX: Learn about revolutionary ryegrasses

18 Oct 2016

Barenbrug, the grass expert, will be showcasing its portfolio of purpose-bred perennial ryegrasses on Stand G055.

Dr David Greenshields, Barenbrug Amenity Business Manager, will be on hand to explain how over 15 years of plant breeding and research results in a cultivar with a unique set of characteristics tailored to meet specific needs of grounds managers in the sports turf industry.

The market-leading portfolio includes Barolympic, the current number 1-ranked variety for lawn and close-mowing applications; Barorlando, a recent table-topper for performance under winter sports wear and Barlibro, the latest “RPR” cultivar, which offers regenerative capacity through stoloniferous growth.

Many of these ryegrasses are not only trialled and researched in the UK, but also grown in industry-leading quantities by British farmers specifically for the UK market.

Of special note is the new RPR Stadium blend, formulated after three years of mixture trials at the company’s Cropvale research site in Worcestershire.  The product offers an unparalleled combination of wear tolerance, disease resistance and genetic colour, making it particularly appealing to those managing a winter sports pitch in a stadium environment.

To find out how Barenbrug’s other mixtures – such as BAR 7 and BAR Extreme – make groundsmen’s lives easier in a range of sports, budgets go further, and clubs and players happier, visit Barenbrug at stand G055.
