Sow Green Solves Primary School Playground Problems

28 Jul 2010

The pupils of Ashford Oaks Primary School in Kent are benefiting from the recent introduction of ‘Sow Green’, the artificial alternative to natural grass, which has turned their playground into a clean safe and fun place to be.

Ashford Oaks is a new school in an area of high, but improving social deprivation. It has recently been built, with beautiful new facilities and the recent addition of 300m² of artificial grass certainly means that pupils won’t be getting stuck in the mud and will be able to play outside all year round.

The previous natural grass areas had become so worn that the area had to be coned off during the winter months because pupils were bringing too much mud and mess into the school. After a rigorous selection process, Sow Green was the chosen product to install.

“Our pupils and teachers are all delighted with their new playground”, commented Terry Nettleship, Site Manager for the school. “The whole project has added to the safety of the children’s play and also means that the playground can be open all year. There is no mud brought into the school during the wetter times and it’s certainly been a success.”
