Successful Demo Day For Ransomes Jacobsens's New Dealer

12 Feb 2008

Golf & Turf Machinery, RANSOMES JACOBSEN’s new dealer for South Yorkshire, held a very successful Demonstration Day at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster recently.
Over 100 customers and prospects from their territory, which includes Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster, turned out at the impressive new stadium complex for the event.

As well as the Ransomes Jacobsen products, the guests were able to view a large range of equipment from several other manufacturers and suppliers including Wiedenmann, Major, PLM, Orec, Sisis, Bernhard Grinders, IPU and Rigby Taylor.

Throughout the day there were product demonstrations; numerous Ride n’ Drive opportunities to test equipment and, for the more competitive attendees, the chance to take part in a Zero-turn mower time trial. There was also an opportunity to drive the latest version of the remote-controlled Ransomes Spider slope mower and there was a good take up for the stadium tours held throughout the day.

Golf and Turf Machinery was formed in the summer of 2006 by a small team of professionals, all with a wealth of experience in the grounds care industry. Each team member is respected in their own field and all have worked for large dealers across Yorkshire and the Midlands. They have a fully operational depot at Mexborough in S. Yorks.

Managing and Sales Director Glen Sawyer said, “The objective of this event was to introduce our business to new prospects and cement relationships with existing customers. I’m delighted to report that it did that and more. We were absolutely delighted with the turnout and the contribution from the major manufacturers was outstanding, ensuring a productive and informative day for everyone who came.”

Jim Whitton, Ransomes Jacobsen’s Regional Sales Manager added, “We are delighted for Glen and his team at the success of this event. The staff at the Keepmoat were very accommodating and the event certainly achieved what we wanted it to do. Glen has assembled a professional, knowledgeable and highly experienced team, with an extensive understanding of their territory and the business sector. Going forward, they will definitely add to our sales efforts in South Yorkshire.”

Ransomes Jacobsen is a subsidiary of Textron Inc., an $11 billion multi-industry company operating in 32 countries with approximately 40,000 employees. The company leverages its global network of aircraft, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative solutions and services. Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft Company, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Greenlee, Fluid & Power, Textron Systems and Textron Financial Corporation.
