The serious new sod cutter from Classen
Classen have taken their sod cutter and made it more compact, lighter and more productive, with the new Classen PRO Sod Cutter.
The compact size and integrated rear swivel wheel offer easier turning and superior manoeuvrability, in what is a simplified machine. No less effective for that, this is a self propelled, hydrostatic sod cutter that offers a smooth, consistent power flow and you’ll immediately notice the speed which at 4.7mph/7.5kmh is, say Classen, the fastest in the industry. For operator comfort there is an advanced vibration dampening system and for ease of use the integrated throttle and clutch control on the handle goes idle and stops the machine when released.
What you’re looking for in a sod cutter is a clean, smooth result and on this Classen the blade is placed at the centre of the machine to ensure a more consistent cutting depth, adjusting to cut sods up to 2.5”/6.3cm deep. The cutting blade makes twenty cutting strokes per second/1,200 per minute, to ensure you get that smooth result and increased sod cutting productivity. The standard 18” wide blade can be replaced with 12”, 16”, 20” or 24” optional blade assemblies in a matter of minutes (the 24” blade is available for HSC188 models only).
There are two models of the new sod cutter to choose from, each with Honda engines. The Classen HSC185 has a 163cc Honda GX160 engine and the HSC188 a 242cc GX240. Knobbly tread drive wheels ensure better traction and eliminate dirt build up. The ideal sod cutter for turf professionals from contractors and councils to hire outlets the Classen Pro Sod Cutter comes with a two-year warranty.
