Toro Is Favourite At New Royal Ascot Course

28 Nov 2005

Royal Ascot Golf Club has taken delivery of a fleet of Toro machinery, valued at £230K, for its brand new 18-hole course. As part of the redevelopment of the famous Berkshire racecourse, the golf club has been moved from within the track boundary to another location on the Crown Estate, where a new course and clubhouse have been constructed.

Course manager Alistair Holehouse said: “Our move to the new site meant we just had to have a proper fleet. We evaluated three manufacturers’ machinery, and looked at a host of factors, including price and service. Toro came out on top overall.

“Our two new electric Workman e2050 utility vehicles are particularly good for us because we have a number of environmentally sensitive areas on the course which we have to take great care with. The Sidewinder is also a fantastic machine and the Groundsmaster 4100-D rough-cutter is so productive.”

The machinery was supplied by local Toro dealer John Shaw Machinery.
