We’re excited to be looking for an experienced Grounds Person to join us on a permanent basis, someone who’d love to jump in and help play an integral role in the presentation and upkeep of our grounds. You’ll be working closely with the Head of Grounds and be responsible for maintaining all playing surfaces, facilities and surrounds to the highest standards possible. You’ll be working with a fantastic team based at St Mary’s Stadium, Staplewood Campus AFC Totton.
Is this you?
You’ll have experience working in the Grounds maintenance industry or hold an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management (or similar). You’ll be motivated and enthusiastic to make Southampton FC’s grounds the best they can be, have good communication skills and appreciate a flexible approach to work schedules due to the needs of the Club.
Experience in using rotary and cylinder mowers, tractors and implements, and white line markers would be essential.

This role would be perfect for someone who is looking to try a new work environment or who wants to be part of a sporting and stadium experience. Our sites are open all year round so this role would also suit anyone looking for flexibility or who is unable to commit to a permanent position – with a variety of weekend, evening or daytime shifts.
Our Casual Grounds staff play a pivotal role in the presentation and upkeep of our grounds. You’ll work alongside a team of Grounds Operatives and assist with cover, supporting with repairing the pitch immediately after matches and the setup of playing surfaces.
This opportunity is ideal for those who are studying Groundmanship, Horticulture or are currently working in the industry.
