Space Limitations Addressed With Compact TYM Tractor

Park House Hotel and Spa, in West Sussex, has taken delivery of a new tractor that, as one of TYM’s most compact, has addressed the venue’s issues with limited storage while also providing much-needed power on site.
Quintessentially English, the small yet luxury country house hotel boasts facilities including two traditional grass tennis courts, a bowls lawn, a croquet lawn, a 6-hole par 3 golf course and a 9-hole putting green.
Robert Jolly, head gardener, says with such a wide array of facilities to maintain and a small space to keep a tractor, size and power were key when choosing the TYM.
“We were looking for a high powered, yet small tractor. Previously we had two little garden tractors dragging a home-made trailer around; we needed something more able,” he says.
Opting to purchase the TYM 253HST from local dealer Kingsworthy Garden Machinery Limited, Robert says that, as well as the compactness of the vehicle, versatility played a big part in his decision.
“Small and compact, it’s ideal for us. It even has a fold down roll bar, so we’re able to get it in our small garage.
“We bought it with the geo trailer, so we’re able to use it for all sorts of jobs, such as transporting grass cuttings, top dressing and distributing gravel and scalpings to repair the drive. With a 3-point linkage, we also hope to add more attachments in the future, which will open it up to even more uses,” he explains.
Having only been in action at Park House for a short period, the TYM has already proved indispensable and Robert says that all three of the hotel’s grounds and greenkeeping staff have found it easy to operate.
“As it’s hydrostatic with two pedals to go back and forwards, it’s very easy to use. The whole team has found it so much easier to get jobs done now we have the new tractor on site,” he adds.
