Winning Year For Lindum At RHS Chelsea
Yorkshire turf producer Lindum has provided more than 700 m² of specialist turf products to medal winning gardens at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Working with over a third of the 32 gardens entered in this year’s show, every one of the gardens using Lindum turf products received a Gold, Silver-gilt or Silver medal.
Stephen Fell, Managing Director, Lindum said: “It’s been an amazing achievement this year. We are always thrilled to supply the top designers at RHS Chelsea and to have such a magnitude of medal winning gardens featuring our turf, wildflower turf and green roof mats is fantastic. A huge amount of development and work goes into producing the highest quality turf we can and it’s wonderful to see it at its very best complementing these magnificent gardens. ”
Sending their specialist turf to RHS Chelsea is nothing new to Lindum; however this year has seen them supply and install their largest quantities to date. It’s been an exciting mix of requirements this year, with many gardens using turf as one of the main features, whilst others have chosen Lindum turf to give that final touch around the edges, whatever the reason, the turf has proved a highly successful choice for many designers.
The highlights for Lindum this year were the use of Lindum’s turf products on two of the Gold medal winning gardens:
- ‘The Homebase Garden – Urban Retreat’, designed by Adam Frost, included a wonderful expanse of lawn, a core part of any garden and something which is greatly supported in this year’s RHS campaign Greening Grey Britain, plus a spectacular wildflower green roof.
- ‘Edo no Niwa – The Edo Garden’, designed by Kazuyuki Ishihara, an amazing display of sedum green roofs which have a significant role to play in greening urban spaces and mitigating climate change, and this garden showcases just what an amazing feature they can be.
