turfRad is developed by TerraRad Tech, a Swiss company spun out of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), part of the ETH Zürich research network. Our roots are in earth observation and remote sensing, and our passion lies in turning scientific innovation into practical tools that make everyday work easier for those who care for the world’s landscapes.
At the core of our technology is passive microwave radiometry, a sensing method commonly used in satellites to measure global soil moisture. We’ve adapted this advanced technology into a vehicle-mounted system that provides actionable data through moisture maps.
