Opposite Ends Of The Country Pick Up The Giant Vac

20 Aug 2014

As the season for leaf clearance looms, the STM dealers have not missed opportunities to get out there with the Giant-Vac range of debris collectors and blowers.

Top of the list of successes is the Yard-Vac vacuum unit, and here are sales that have taken place at each end of the UK. In the South, dealers M and S have sold three units; one of their biggest commercial customers have supplemented their existing fleet of SCAG mowers with a Yard-Vac for maintaining their site.

Secondly a large international removals company has just taken delivery of a similar machine for keeping the yard tidy at one of their branches, and, to complete the hat trick, the sports ground at a prestigious local school have one for maintaining the outer areas on the playing fields.

Meanwhile . . . up in Scotland one of STM’s dealers has an excellent success story. After a disappointing demonstration with a machine that was not a SCAG Giant-Vac, he had the opportunity to go back with the Yard-Vac.                          The SCAG Giant-Vac in action.

The disappointment with the other unit was its performance with collecting wet leaves. Kenny Hunter of Fraser Robb reports: “The machine worked well; I demonstrated it in pouring rain and was very pleased to see it collected every soaking wet leaf. Paper and plastic bottles were soon flying up the suction head.

“Another problem we had experienced with the competitor’s product was that debris was escaping out of the poorly devised collection bag. The YV14 has the most efficient collection bag I’ve experienced and the system for emptying it could not be simpler.

“The YV14 demonstration machine was sold right there and then!”

Comments the company have had back about the machine are that it’s well-built, easy to push, has a good engine, and it’s a good price. The machine’s suction capability is good and the  adjustable head allows the machine to work over a range of situations. The well-balanced impeller works well in conjunction with the anti-vibration foam handles on the unit to make it comfortable to use.

The machines are available for demonstration through the STM dealership network.
