John Deere Highlights New Models At Harrogate
New machines from John Deere’s comprehensive golf and turf maintenance product range will be featured at BTME 2014 in Harrogate in January on Stand no. M58.
These include the new X950R commercial rear discharge/rear collect diesel lawn tractor – a first for the company – and the latest heavy-duty 4×4 Gator utility vehicle, the fast and powerful XUV 825i petrol engine model.
The basic 24hp X950R will be available in four different configurations, with a choice of 122 or 137cm (48 or 54in) rotary mower decks and either a 550-litre (low dump) or 670-litre (high dump) materials collection system. The deep design of the high capacity steel decks allows a constant grass flow and easily copes with all mowing conditions, while the collector can be opened in any position.
Additional user-friendly features include a unique single multi-function hydraulic lever for operating the mower deck, collector and front mounted implements, and a separate hydraulic pump for lifting and emptying the collector quickly at low engine rpm. Equipped with a front hitch and pto, the new X950R can be used all year round with a variety of groundscare implements and attachments.
More power, speed and acceleration are provided by the new 50hp XUV 825i Gator utility vehicle, which has a top speed of 44mph and offers smoother, automotive-style performance. Power steering with an anti-kickback feature is standard.
The 825i features a fully locking four-wheel drive system and fully independent double wishbone suspension, with up to 267mm (10.5in) of ground clearance. The large, one-piece cargo box provides a load capacity of 454kg, while towing capacity is 680kg and overall payload capacity is 635kg.
The turf industry’s biggest choice of hybrid electric walk-behind and ride-on cylinder mowers is represented by the 2500E greens mower and 8000E lightweight fairway mower, equipped with innovative Quick Adjust cutting units featuring the SpeedLink system for extremely quick height-of-cut adjustment. John Deere’s hybrid electric mower technology was the first to be made commercially available on the amenity market, in 2005.
Also making its UK show debut at Harrogate (in addition to the XUV 825i), John Deere’s new XUV 855D S4 Gator utility vehicle combines versatile off-road performance, work capability and comfort for up to four people.
It is powered by the proven 25hp three-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine featured on the current 855D model; the olive & black liveried S4 also has a top speed of 32mph, and comes with power steering as standard. To allow for additional passengers or cargo space, this model features an easily convertible rear bench that folds down to provide a flat surface for extra storage. Cargo box, towing and payload capacities are 454kg, 680kg and 635kg respectively, and a variety of options and attachments are available.
These machines will line up alongside other pedestrian and ride-on cylinder and rotary mowers, Gator utility vehicles, compact tractors and quality parts.
In addition, John Deere Financial’s latest interest-free finance programmes mean golf and bowls clubs can still order a new machine until the end of February 2014, with the first of two annual payments at zero per cent interest due in March 2014, based on 60 per cent of the recommended retail price – further details are available from John Deere dealers or online at www.JohnDeereFinancial.co.uk
