Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa, the family owned leisure complex at Woodbridge in Suffolk, has taken delivery of new maintenance equipment for their 18-hole golf course, from near neighbours Ransomes Jacobsen.

Delivered by local dealer Bartram Mowers, this season’s new equipment consists of Cushman Turf-Truckster and a Jacobsen LF570 light fairway mower.

“The LF570 replaces our former Jacobsen fairway mower, the LF3800,” said head greenkeeper Adrian Hollins. “The 570 is the updated version of the 3800, which was an excellent product and there was no reason to change. However, we did look at competitor machines, just to make sure we were certain our choice! The reels on the 570 run faster than on the older model and the quality of cut, in my opinion, is better than ever.

“The Cushman Turf-Truckster is a replacement for one of our ageing utility vehicles; the Truckster is a great general purpose heavy duty vehicle on which we can mount sprayers, top dressers, slitters and other equipment. This is our fifth since I’ve been here and it’s a really flexible workhorse.”

Colin Aldous is Chairman and owner of Ufford Park and is happy with the long standing relationship with the Ipswich-based manufacturer.

“The golf course has improved year on year and Adrian, working closely with Stuart Robertson, our experienced PGA professional, has gradually improved the aesthetics and presentation and it’s looking the best it’s ever been. We keep investing in the business and we are seeing the results.
