Royal St David’s Invests In TYM T503 From Lely UK
Internationally renowned Welsh golf club Royal St David’s, set in Harlech, North Wales, has invested in one of TYM’s toughest compact tractors – the T503.
Marking part of a five-year Total Solutions package with turfcare specialist Lely UK, the T503, bought with cab, is the latest arrival from the club’s rolling machinery programme, joining two other tractors on site, along with a full Toro fleet – all supplied by Lely.
Rated within the top 50 golf courses in the UK, the club’s links manager Rhys Butler, says he evaluated comparative machinery in all key areas, including performance, maintenance, ease of use and cost, and found TYM was the best fit.
“We tested out all of the tractor brands suitable for our needs, but TYM came top, both with myself and all six of the greenkeeping team here,” Rhys explains.
“The T503 offers great value for money and build quality. And, as well as being well laid out both inside and out, with a spacious cab, it’s also really operator friendly, with one touch PTO on/off control,” he says.
The ideal choice for tough jobs, the T503 compact tractor has hydrostatic power steering for ease of handling and also features optional tyre types as well as a rear wiper, projection head lamps and a dual air filter. With the switch panel for front and rear working lights and wipers being located on the right post, it also offers easy operational control, while the two selective control valves also work to connect hydraulic line components easily.
“We’ve been using it for a wide array of jobs around the club since it arrived, including verti-draining, spraying and trailer haulage,” he adds.
