Rushmere Sees New TYM As Part Of Wider Renewal Deal

Rushmere Sees New TYM As Part Of Wider Renewal Deal

24 Aug 2015

Rushmere Golf Club, in Ipswich, Suffolk, has seen a new TYM tractor come on board, marking part of a wider £140k machinery renewal agreement with Lely Turfcare.

The deal has seen the club, which boasts a historic 6200-yard course, renew the lease on half of its Toro fleet, as well as purchase both previously leased and new equipment, which alongside Toro mowers, includes the new TYM.

Opting for the T503 model, an ideal choice for tough jobs, Rushmere’s new compact tractor has hydrostatic power steering for ease of handling, as well as a rear wiper, projection head lamps and a dual air filter.

Two selective control valves work to connect hydraulic line components easily, while the switch panel for front and rear working lights and wipers are located on the right post, offering stress-free operational control.

Bob Tawell, general manager, agrees, pointing out ease of use as one of the tractor’s main benefits. “Feedback from our greenkeepers has all been positive; it’s been running smoothly from the moment it arrived, and all of the team have found it particularly easy to handle, no matter what the job,” explains Bob.

Replacing two old tractors of a different brand, Bob says that since its arrival, the T503 has been put to good use by the club’s three-strong greenkeeping team, led by head greenkeeper Pat Swinn.

Employed for top dressing, moving sleepers and other heavy materials, and for hollow tining, it also handles most of the maintenance work on site.

Having trialled the TYM along with other tractor brands, Bob and Rushmere’s greenkeeping trio solidly agreed that the TYM was a great choice, suiting all their needs.
