Early bird tickets for ‘Party with Perennial’
Tickets are now on sale for the annual Party for Perennial, which will take place on Thursday 19 January 2017 at the Garden Room & Conservatory, Barbican Centre, London, and are discounted at a special ‘Early Bird’ rate during Get Going for HortAid fortnight (5–18 Sept) and up until the end of September.
The 2017 event will be hosted by popular garden designer and broadcaster, James Alexander-Sinclair who will manage proceedings and launch HortAid 2017, Perennial’s year-long fundraising campaign. The Party is an opportunity to join friends and colleagues from across the horticulture industry for a fantastic evening of networking, fun and fundraising.
The Party for Perennial, now in its fourth year, is an established annual industry fixture, having been reinstated following the charity’s 175th anniversary in 2014, reviving the organisation’s Victorian tradition of an annual fundraising event.
The 2016 Party raised over £34,000 kick-starting an epic year of industry support and fundraising. The HortAid 2016 total currently stands at over £90,000 and the charity hopes the Get Going for HortAid fortnight will bring the total over £100,000.
Anita Bates, Director of Marketing and Development at Perennial, said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer tickets to the Party for Perennial earlier than ever this year. Feedback from our recent events has enabled us to plan for 2017 in good time and we promise to bring our supporters and friends from across the horticulture industry a night to remember.
“The venue for 2017 is stunning – a true icon in modern design – and we are sure that all those who join us on the night will not be disappointed.”
The ticket price includes a glass of bubbly and delicious bowl food set in the beautiful surroundings of the Barbican Centre’s Garden Room & Conservatory.
All funds raised through ticket sales and the auction and raffle, hosted by Andrew Fisher-Tomlin, will help support all UK horticulturists, retired and of working age, and their families, who come to Perennial for help. As the only charity that helps individuals from all sectors of the horticulture industry, Perennial makes a massive difference to people’s lives when they have nowhere else to turn.
Garden designer, broadcaster and host for the evening, James Alexander-Sinclair, comments: “Perennial have always been the good guys – the only charity that provides practical and financial help to gardeners in need.
“There are many in our industry who through bad luck and unfortunate circumstances, struggle to make ends meet. I am thrilled to have been asked to host next year’s fundraising party to help raise money and awareness for this cause. All those who have ever loved a garden or lain on the warm grass of a public park have a role in supporting Perennial.
“Please come and join me on 19th January – it will, I promise, be worth the journey.”
