Versatile Greens And Tees Equipment From Trilo
Established blowers and vacuums acs manufacturer Trilo will be exhibiting on their own stand for the first time at BTME 2016.
The company has many products that find specific applications on golf ourses, two such machines are the TRILO S3 vacuum sweeper (pictured above) and the TRILO VCU 120 verticutter designed to meet the requirements of an economically challenging environment.
Working at a convenient 1.5 metres wide, the TRILO S3 vacuum sweeper weighs in at only 1200kg making it suitable for compact tractors of 28HP. The full floating brush head, and low ground pressure, allows the machine to work under the heaviest of conditions where others may struggle.
The balanced fan wheel gives a reliable and above all a safe source of power. The impeller casing can be opened at the top and has an inspection trap in the lower section to allow easy cleaning. To cope with the amount of material collected in a 3M³ container, the S3 also features a 1.6 metre high tip facility meaning it can keep downtime to a minimum by unloading directly into a truck or skip.
A 6 metre long 200mm diameter hand held wander hose makes the TRILO S3 extremely versatile all year round to clean hard to get to areas such as bunkers, shrubberies or refuse bins.
Greenkeepers are well aware of the benefits of removing thatch and unwanted lateral growth on fine turf. Scarification encourages healthy growth and improves surface penetration by water to enhance airflow around the plant. All of which minimises the potential for disease and maintains the appearance of greens and tees throughout a busy playing season.
Finding the right machine can be tricky – pedestrian scarifiers make it a time consuming job, and can suffer from wear and tear if overworked. Even tractor mounted machines can be heavy and cumbersome on fine turf, but TRILO’s VCU 120 verticutter weighs in at just 225kg whilst still offering a working width of 1.2m – ideal for greens and tees using a compact tractor.
A slightly offset design allows working right up to the edge of the green or tee without risking damage by the tyres. Spacing for the rugged tungsten tipped blades is 50mm as standard, but can be swapped to 25mm for greater intensity. There is a maximum working depth of 50mm for effective, clean scarification that will be an asset on any golf course.
